Green Fingers

This week Reception started to get green fingered with the story Jack and the Beanstalk. We potted runner beans in cotton wool and water. Once they sprout, we will pot them in soil and watch them grow up to our Giant’s castles. We have been learning our number bonds to 10 using bead strings and are really starting to be able to quickly recall some of our number facts! Next week we will start to read Oliver’s Vegetables get to taste vegetables from the story and writing about them using wow words (adjectives.) We will also get busy setting up and labelling the things in our Farm Shop/Garden Centre role play area. In maths, we will be learning to recognise coins up to 10p, know values and solve practical problems.
