Welcome to Hampreston CE VA First School
To Love God and to Love One Another
Welcome
At Hampreston First School, the children are at the heart of everything we do. The five years that they spend with us are precious and special, and it is an honour for us to be the start of their educational Learning Journey.
We want our children to develop as confident individuals who are able to live a safe, healthy and happy life. We want our children to make a positive contribution to their community and develop a sense of belonging and responsibility. We want them to be proud of everything that they do, enabling them to become valuable citizens of our society.
We are committed to fostering a love of learning by providing a curriculum that is rooted in a desire to bring out the best in all of our children, preparing them for success in life. We aspire to walk together in hope along the Hampreston pathway, guided by our Christian Values of Respect and Service, Uniqueness and Creativity, Aspiration and Growth.
We respect the past and retain some long-standing traditions of this Christian village school, whilst ensuring that every opportunity available in the 21st century is offered to our children with the most up-to-date facilities. We enjoy a close relationship with our local church and the message of the Christian gospel is at the heart of everything we do. We build close relationships with the children and adults in our school community and recognise that every child is a unique and precious individual.
Enjoy browsing our website and seeing what opportunities Hampreston can provide for your child. You are also very welcome to visit our school. Please ring the office to make an appointment.

Asking Questions
We want children to ask deeper questions in life. Each week, children take home a ‘Sticky Question’ - based around Philosophy for Children - to really provoke some dinnertime conversations.
Working Together
Hampreston is a community where everybody works together. That is why children are offered opportunities to collaborate within and across classes.
Looking to the Future
We want children at Hampreston to DREAM BIG. We support this with our aspirational transition project: Compass For Life!
Respect
That all members of the Hampreston family feel valued and listened to
Growth
That each member of the School community is supported to grow in resilience, by trying new things and in perseverance
Our Values
Creativity
Within our Christian community, all are encouraged to explore, to be imaginative and to be open-minded
Aspiration
That we promote passions and dreams for all, helping them to create a vision for life in which to flourish and thrive
Uniqueness
That there is a space for all to be individual, to discover themselves, and recognise their self-worth
Service
That within God's love, we become global citizens, loving and serving one another, giving of ourselves to our community and to the wider world
