Keeping Children Safe
Safeguarding Statement
Hampreston CE (VA) First School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Child protection is one very important aspect of safeguarding. It refers to the activity which is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or at risk of suffering, significant harm.
Should a child protection issue be identified, the school is legally bound to follow government guidelines.
If you want to know more about these procedures, please speak to the Headteacher who is the Designated Senior Lead
The NSPCC encourages children to speak out and stay safe from all forms of abuse.
Children can call Childline for free on 0800 1111 any time, any day for someone to talk to if they are worried.

Support and Advice
At Hampreston CE (VA) First School we believe that the best outcomes for children occur when the school works in partnership with parents and carers.
We also work with a number of agencies to help support children and their families. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
